AMDC attended the event “Threats to Economy and Infrastructure – Detecting and Countering Drones” at the Aero Flight Test Center in Gauting, bringing together representatives from industry, research, security authorities, and infrastructure operators to address one of today’s pressing security technology challenges: the growing threat posed by unmanned aerial systems.
Organized by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, and coordinated by the aerospace cluster bavAIRia e.V., the event provided a compact yet intensive overview of the latest developments in drone detection and neutralization, as well as the regulatory frameworks governing their use.
Fourteen exhibitors demonstrated technologies ranging from radar, radio frequency, and optical detection systems to practical strategies for mitigating potential threats. The event built on discussions from the October AAM Forum, which already highlighted drones and counter-drone technologies in civil and dual-use contexts.
Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are evolving at a rapid pace, bringing increasing security challenges for businesses, critical infrastructure, and public institutions. Companies, energy and transport networks, and authorities are confronted with scenarios in which reconnaissance, espionage, sabotage, or operational disruptions caused by drones become real threats. This, in turn, drives the demand for practical solutions that are both technologically robust and legally sound.
Bavaria is well-positioned to take a leading role in this field. The event provided an important platform for networking and exchanging expertise between technology providers and end users, fostering collaborative approaches to protecting economic actors and critical infrastructure.
AMDC is proud to contribute its expertise in aerospace and defense engineering to support the development and deployment of innovative, reliable, and practical counter-drone solutions. We extend our thanks to State Minister Hubert Aiwanger, all participants, and the exhibiting companies for their valuable contributions and discussions.
We’re always looking for talent ready to take responsibility and drive innovation. Get in touch with AMDC. We’d love to meet you.
